Price localization

An exchange rate doesn’t make a price local

$9.99 becomes R$49.99 in Brazil — a US price in another currency. Amply sets each country’s price on local terms and sends it to the store.

Yardstick

Brazil

· $9.99 a month

Converted at the market rate

R$49.99

Local price · PPP

R$23.99

52% lower than converted. Based on what money buys in each country.

Example: $9.99 a month, rates of 25 Oct 2026, before store price points.

How it works

From yardstick to store in three steps

Step 1

Connect your store key

An App Store Connect key or a Google Play service account. No SDK, no app release.

Step 2

Choose a base price and an index

Purchasing power, Big Mac, Netflix, Spotify — or your own. Pick .99, .95 or round endings.

Step 3

Review the draft, then send

See every territory first. Edit or skip a country, pick a start date, send.

Local terms

Local doesn’t only mean cheaper

Same $9.99 plan, purchasing-power index. Prices fall where money buys more and rise where prices run higher.

Brazil

-52%

R$49.99 → R$23.99

Money buys more here. The price comes down.

Germany

-22%

€8.99 → €6.99

Close to the US. A small step down.

Switzerland

+13%

CHF 7.99 → CHF 8.99

Prices run higher. So does yours.

Start small

Try it in a few countries first

See what local prices do in your own markets before you change them everywhere.

Pick a handful of countries

Select only the countries you want to try. Skip the rest one by one, or a whole continent at once.

Watch those markets

Read them in your store reports. Amply keeps every old and new price with its date.

Add the rest when you’re ready

Make one more change for the other countries, and skip the ones you already priced.

Indexes

Write the policy once. Reuse it in every app

An index sets each country’s price relative to your base. Start from a system index or build your own — every app in your organisation can use it.

How the indexes are built

Purchasing power

What the same money buys in each country.

Big Mac

One familiar product, priced everywhere.

Netflix and Spotify

How two global subscriptions price themselves.

The store’s own matrix

Apple’s and Google’s equivalents, if you prefer them.

Your own index

Edit it, or upload a spreadsheet. Reuse it in every app.

From a past change

Turn prices you already sent into a reusable index.

Control

Nothing reaches the store until you send it

Draft

Every country’s new price, before anything moves. Edit or skip any of them.

Checked

A price the store would refuse is held back, with the reason.

Scheduled

Pick the start date. On iOS, current subscribers can keep their price.

Sending

Each territory reports sent, unchanged or failed. Retry in one click.

History

Old and new price for every country, and who sent the change.

Access

What Amply needs from you

One key per store. Amply stores it encrypted and uses it only to read and update store prices. Revoke it any time in the store console.

Step-by-step key setup

App Store Connect

An API key with the App Manager role.

Finance is not enough — it can only read prices.

Google Play

A service account with View app information and Manage store presence.

No orders or refunds permission needed.

Before you connect a key

No. Amply talks to App Store Connect and Google Play through their APIs, with a key you create. Your app and its build stay as they are.

An App Store Connect key with the App Manager role, and a Google Play service account with View app information and Manage store presence. Keys are stored encrypted and used only for store prices.

Yes. Every change starts as a draft with the new price for each territory. Nothing is sent until someone applies it.

Your base price × the country’s coefficient in the index you pick × the day’s market rate. It is rounded to your ending — .99, .95, .00 or .50. On iOS it then snaps to a valid App Store price point, so the final price can differ slightly from the example.

On the App Store you choose: new subscribers only, or everyone. Price decreases always reach everyone. Offers apply to new redemptions only.

Amply doesn’t promise a conversion lift. Start with a few countries and watch those markets in your store reports. Expand only when the result makes sense for your business.
